Exam Rules and Regulations
Once an applicant registers to take the CDC exam an acknowledgment from PSDA will be sent containing the exam website, user name and password. Do not log on to the exam website until you are ready to begin taking the exam. PSDA begins monitoring user names and passwords from the first log in. Applicants have a total of four hours to complete the CDC Exam. The exam timer begins running each time an applicant logs in and halts when applicants log off or when there is an interruption in the connection. Each time an applicant logs back into the exam, the system will automatically restart the exam where it left off. Applicants cannot go back at any point during the exam to change the answer to a question. PSDA does, however, offer applications the option to re-take any section of the exam should they wish to revisit their answered questions. The cost to repeat a section is $50 per section. Applicants must score a total of 190 to pass the exam. There is one point offered for each question.

Helpful Tips:

  1. Use a robust and fast Internet connection. Do not use a connection that you know may be frequently interrupted or have a slow Internet response.
  2. The exam site is compatible with the latest versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator.
  3. If you have any questions or problems, please contact us at 703.836.6232.

The CDC exam is protected by Copyright. Printing or copying of the exam is prohibited. Applicants or certification holders found to be copying or printing the exam will have their applications or CDC credentials revoked. Individuals signed up to take the exam must be the same individual who sits for the exam. Any misrepresentation of a candidate's identity will result in revocation of CDC status.
