2010 CEO SUMMIT WRAP UP

Nearly 100 printing industry owners and executives attended the 2010 CEO Summit, Feb. 17-19, at the Ritz Carlton in Dallas. Attendees had the opportunity to listen to selling, sales management and sales training discussions, as well as sit in on a lunchtime economics presentation, engage in round table discussions and network at evening receptions. Common themes attendees discussed were attracting the next generation of employees to the industry, continuing to grow business in a tough economy, incorporating social media into marketing strategies, transitioning to a marketing services provider and retraining sales forces to sell services and programs in addition to products.

Andre Vanier, a principal at Kieran Label Corp, San Diego, attended the CEO Summit for the first time. “It was two tremendous days of engaging speakers, thought-provoking round tables and great camaraderie,” Vanier said. Read the full article.

A PRINCIPALS ONLY EVENT

Each year, PSDA brings together principals from member companies with sales in excess of $2.5 million at the CEO Summit. This two and a half day event, exclusively for owners and C-level executives, provides an array of round table discussions, dynamic speakers, thought-provoking workshop, and peer-to-peer networking opportunities.

“To any PSDA member considering attending the CEO Summit, I’ve got one word of advice for you: “Go!” This is a great event and I definitely get my money’s worth. The speaker’s were all very good this year (2010) and they covered varied and relevant topics. But, don’t expect to attend this meeting and get “talked at” for two days. There are three separate round table discussions and in each session the attendees decide which topics should be discussed. My favorite was the “speed dating” session, where we break into small groups and each person gets an opportunity to pose a question to the group, such as “My biggest obstacle in growing my business is _________, how can I overcome this?” In 5 minutes, CEO’s, company principals, and other industry experts pepper you with potential solutions, sharing their own experiences and freely offering their advice. It was an amazing exchange of ideas and information – kind of like this Listserv – ON STEROIDS!”
