2011 PSDA Give-Back Project
On the opening day of the CEO Summit, 17 volunteers participated in PSDA's Give-Back Day. The group volunteered with the St. Bernard Project and sanded, hung and mudded dry wall in the home of Kaneisha Richards.
Chip Lattanzio of Winbrook Associates says: "I was thrilled to be able to participate in the Give-Back Program. We had a great day and I was happy to be able to help. It was amazing to see how much damage remains from Hurricane Katrina." View photos from the Give-Back Project.
About the St. Bernard Project
The mission of the St. Bernard Project is to create housing opportunities so that Hurricane Katrina survivors can return to their homes and communities. The organization was started in March 2006 by Zack Rosenburg and Liz McCartney after the couple volunteered in St. Bernard and were inspired by the spirit and courage of the people they met.
Over the years, St. Bernard Project has received distinguishing awards, including The Manhattan Institute's Award for Social Entrepreneurship, the Friends of New Orleans Hero of the Storm Award and CNN Hero of the Year.
